Service for improved energy efficiency
As regulations become stricter, energy efficiency is turning into an important aspect of the building and property sector. An energy-efficient property produces savings in operating costs. Our energy experts offer assistance both in improving the efficiency of existing buildings and in ensuring energy efficiency in new construction projects.
Our services for existing properties include energy certificates and reviews. For new building projects we carry out energy simulations, consumption calculations, comparisons of design alternatives and energy certification.
Life cycle assessments for cost-effectiveness
Life cycle assessment (LCA) and life cycle
costing (LCC) are two methods for effectively improving the
environmental properties and cost-effectiveness of a product or service
in the long term.
Life cycle assessment refers to calculating the environmental impact of a
product or service throughout its lifetime. This includes carbon and
water footprint estimates. LCA can be used to investigate the
environmental impacts of different stages of the life cycle, or to find
ways to reduce or compare the impacts of different
materials or designs in a construction project.
The purpose of life cycle costing is to produce an idea of the effect of
diverse design solutions on the costs arising from a property. LCC can
be used in building projects to compare diverse design solutions or in
conjunction with LCA to calculate a building’s maintenance costs.
