Life cycle assessment refers to calculating the environmental impact of a product or service throughout its lifetime. This includes carbon and water footprint estimates. The purpose of life cycle costing is to produce an idea of the effect of diverse design solutions on the costs arising from a property. LCC can be used in building projects to compare diverse design solutions or in conjunction with LCA to calculate a building’s maintenance costs.
