Laboratory services for various research needs

We offer laboratory services for material damage surveys, building material toxin surveys, surface treatment material surveys and measurements, and corrosion analyses of water lines and drainage pipes. We have over 50 individual analysis products, including the following:

Thin section surveys and surface section surveys

These surveys determine the amount of, for example, frost damage, damage caused by alkaline mineral reactions, rebar corrosion, and damage caused by salts.

Specifying carbonation depth and coating layer measurement

These surveys chart the rate of progress of the neutralised area in concrete and the distance of rebar from the surface. The measurement results can be used in estimating the number of rusted rebar and those requiring protection.

Chloride specification

The quantity of acid-soluble salts is determined according to the concrete weight. The specification is used to determine the chloride stress corrosion on the concrete rebar.

Tensile and bond strength test

The material's internal strength and bond strength between different layers are analysed in the survey. The tests are used to determine the bonding potential with regard to, for example, maintenance painting. The results can also be used when estimating the degree of concrete efflorescence.

Specification of bonding agent type

A bonding agent type is specified for the paint or surface coating. Bonding agent type specification is used, for example, in assessing the causes of facade paint damage and in choosing the paint to be used for maintenance painting.

Asbestos analysis

An asbestos analysis is used to determine the grade of the asbestos found in a material or air sample.
