Quality does not come automatically
In Finland, construction is often done in demanding conditions where achieving high quality requires precise preplanning. Structures must not get too wet and drying must be ensured by using structural solutions with adequate drying properties and by creating good working conditions at the site. The importance of moisture management is further emphasised in the shift toward low-energy solutions. In addition to achieving a sufficiently low moisture concentration, quality assurance measurements should be taken to ensure that the substrate is strong enough, the structural layers are thick enough, the layers are firmly fastened to one another, and the target airtightness has been achieved.

Vahanen – Finland's leading expert in quality assurance
Vahanen's quality assurance group consists of 12 industry players, some of whom are the top minds in Finland. Acquiring new information and developing industry operating methods are important parts of our operations. We constantly serve as directors for thesis and engineer work, and we are involved in numerous research projects. We share our expertise not only in quality assurance assignments, but also in dozens of training sessions held every year, and by serving on committees which publish guidelines and publications on good construction practices.
Although our quality assurance service is aimed especially at contractors, engineers and developers should also examine factors affecting quality control, and that is where the Vahanen building physics unit quality assurance group is the right partner.
