“I started working in Vahanen’s construction materials lab while studying in 2007. I graduated as a construction engineer a year ago. I started by taking samples and conducting quality control tests. In the laboratory, you can carry out many small projects independently even if you don’t have much work experience yet.”

“My work is related to different aspects of construction. At the moment I survey building façades, carry out hazardous material and indoor air analyses and do material surveys. I have learned a lot about construction materials and their behaviour in diverse conditions.”

“Previously I worked on building sites, after which I wanted to learn about the planning and consulting side of the industry. I have already been involved in several development projects at Vahanen and have analysed new materials before they are taken into use. Research and development is a big part of operations at Vahanen. You can develop your competence within the organisation, because Vahanen contains experts from many fields. There is always someone who has an answer to your questions.”
