|The Design Helps LIVING ROOM –event is a part of Tikau Share ry’s development project which supports poor villages in the country side of India. The aim of Tikau’s operations is to help locals fight poverty by improving sustainable employment in the society and supporting local villagers’ possibilities for school.
Vahanen is participating in the event by gathering resources for a unique cooperation project which aims to build a Community Centre in a Dalit village in the Indian state of Orissa together with the Finnish civic organization Ukumbi ry. In the future, the Community Centre will act as an education and employment centre, a school for children and a service house for the elders.
At the Design Helps LIVING ROOM –event, you can get to know the Community Centre project more and participate yourself by modelling your of own dream Community Centre building at Vahanen’s stand. Additionally at the LIVING ROOM, you can visit an exhibition, a design café and participate in various events. Design Helps LIVING ROOM is a meeting place for everyone interested in design that helps.
